1. Nature of the service

Seep Bolt X is a self-hosted Bitcoin Lightning payment acceptance service. It lets merchants present a payment request and confirms when that request has been settled over the Lightning Network.

Settlement is native to the Lightning Network: funds travel directly from the customer's wallet to the merchant's node. There is no omnibus account and no intermediate balance held on our side.

3. Merchant responsibilities

Merchants are responsible for the legality of the goods and services they sell, and for holding any licences their business requires.
Merchants must not use the service to receive funds on behalf of third parties for onward transmission, or for any activity listed in the Terms of Service.
Merchants are responsible for their own tax and accounting treatment of received payments.

4. Anti-abuse and monitoring

API access is authenticated and rate limited.
Public endpoints are rate limited by IP and protected against automated abuse.
Server logs are retained for a limited period for the purpose of detecting and preventing abuse, and to investigate disputes.
Orders that appear to be generated for fraudulent purposes may be cancelled or refused.

5. Data handling

See the Privacy Policy for what we collect and why. We do not collect identity documents for individual customers using the checkout, and we do not sell personal data.

6. Reporting a concern

If you believe this service is being used for unlawful activity, or you have a concern about a specific order, contact [email protected]. We will review the concern and take appropriate action, which may include suspending a merchant key or refusing an order.
